The Retirement of Dr Alastair Hall (Class of 1974)

Yes, that is indeed Dr Alastair Hall (Class of 1974) on his new motorbike – “a retirement present to himself” he proudly tells us.

Having been semi-retired for the past five years, Dr Hall has now, in his own words, “finally” retired.

Taking up the position of Educational Psychologist for the North of Argyll (Oban, Lorn and the islands) in 1989, he enjoyed 30 successful years in the role, plus a 2 year secondment as research fellow in the Public Health Research Unit at Glasgow University.

Admirably, Dr Hall, now heads off to his home from home – Crete – where he will volunteer at the Souda Shelter Project, helping to care for and re-home, abused, abandoned and neglected dogs.

From all at The Glasgow Academy, we wish Dr Hall safe travels, and our very best wishes as he moves on to this next chapter in life.
